THE HUNT IS ON!
Estate Sales are all the rage now, after having a crazy 2020. A lot of people are liquidating things that they realize that they just don’t need anymore, as well as realize that they can earn much needed income from…and others are happy to reap the rewards of having a wealthy purchase at a decent price. Most estate sales are selling out in online auctions, before they can even open their physical doors, due to demand…but there is a huge problem…authenticity.
Authenticity is an issue because most of these sales that take place online have not been verified (not even on eBay), especially where jewelry is concerned, and most are non-refundable. What is one to do? Seek other outlets, of course.
Upon doing some research, I came upon something Avant Garde! There is a crazy interesting site that pretty much does all the authentication work for you with a large bandwidth of fine jewelry items, and you never have to leave your house to visit any estate sale or flea market bazaar scenario, but here is the twist…they work with over 4,300 law enforcement agencies and municipalities nationwide to help auction their seized, stolen, abandoned and surplus goods.
WHAT?
Yup, you read that right. Seized, stolen, abandoned and surplus goods. Something I just learned: By statute, law enforcement agencies must auction seized, found, and unclaimed personal property at public auction. Does this sound like an episode of Reality TV? Pretty much. The site is called PropertyRoom.com and it is like the digital version of watching an episode of Storage Wars, in a way, as you never know what kind of treasure/deal you can find! I had never heard of them before my search, but they have been in business for over 20 years.
Here’s the part that I love and has gotten me to blog about PropertyRoom.com. Well first, let me tell you a story. Ok, so I myself have been the victim of authenticity fraud from another auction site. Someone stole a pair of my prized Chanel sunglasses at a party. I was so upset and went seeking replacements online and found a great-too-good-to-be-true price and purchased it, only to find out, upon the box arrival inspection that I had been swindled with a fake/replica. Given the site that I purchased from, I had hoped that the vendor was vetted, and to my surprise, that was not true.
I was S-O-L.
So, here we are, back to PropertyRoom.com, where they take their high valued jewelry items and work with a 3rd party independent specialist to evaluate each and every item before it is ever posted online in auction. They inspect and promptly remove counterfeits. I even checked their Better Business Bureau rating and was happy to see that their rating is at A+.
Beyond having great prices, steals and deals, their stuff is super unique. Check these out!

With hundreds of auctions, most starting at $1 with no reserve, closing daily, they’ve got a mass selection of jewelry that they auction off to the tune of hundreds of items every day. Many of these items sell for much lower than actual retail value and competitor sites. You just have to be a great hunter and quick to react!
