How to Hashtag and a List of Banned #Hashtags to avoid in 2021-?

Share

Hey, Buddies! I see a lot of people using hashtags incorrectly. I grit my teeth, every time I open Instagram. My company runs social media and represents a lot of brands and notable people on Instagram…So, I have decided to start sharing some basic, free helpful social media advice, to help you elevate your own game.

You should definitely be utilizing hashtags in your posts, but it is important for you to know HOW to use them effectively, because they are an integral part of building growth and community on social media. It has become increasingly important to research and keep track of what is trending and what hashtags should be avoided.  There are banned hashtags that have been causing problems for most people who don’t even know it.  First, you must know how to use a hashtag.

GROW YOUR TRIBE WITH HASHTAGS:

LEARN HOW TO USE HASHTAGS. Best practices to build/grow online profile? Follow and use hashtags and engage and follow likeminded accounts. Watch an account that you want to emulate and DO. Set the tone for your profile.  Are you approachable, funny, just posting pretty pics, lifestyle, music, health and fitness, etc. or all of the above? Social media is meant to be social.  You cannot be shy, otherwise there is no point in sharing.  Find your niche. Make your account public, if it isn’t already.

(Especially when sending thank you notes for weddings, it is important to keep accurate records of gifts and acknowledge them by name, which shows that you truly care and paid attention.)

WHAT ARE GOOD HASHTAGS TO USE?

Google search any keyword you have interest in and the phrase “best hashtags” along with it – for instance, Google “vegan chef best hashtags” – a bunch will come up. Choose the ones you want and ones that are trending – you can only post 30 hashtags per post, and they need to have space between them like #LydiaJones #VeganChef #HealthyLiving #VeganRecipes and so on. I don’t recommend posting 30, as it confuses the system. Post the most relevant ones to your post copy. They are MOST BENEFICIALLY utilized in your post copy section and rewarded in the algorithm as such, NOT the comments section below your original post.  I have seen a lot of poor advice on this, on the net where people try to hide their #hashtags for appearance’s sake. Sheer silliness.

BE SAFE WITH HASHTAGS

Research them before using them, otherwise you could get flagged and your Instagram will be “shadow banned” and seen by no one. Yes…There is a shadow ban going on. Banned hashtags are hashtags that Instagram users have reported because the posts using them go against Instagram’s guidelines. This means that any post that uses that hashtag will be hidden, which will only hurt your organic reach and growth efforts. Banned hashtags are always changing, based on community reports and Instagram’s investigations. Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t publish a list of the currently banned hashtags. I have you given you a list of current hashtags to avoid at the bottom of this blog. My team and I constantly research which hashtags are undergoing a ban.

*Notice that I used CamelCase in my hashtags.  By typing your hashtags this way, you are making your posts accessible to non-sight members who are audibly going through Instagram. Screen readers cannot identify the individual words in a hashtag without Camel case. This means the content will be inaccessible to users of screen readers.  This could be a significant proportion of your audience. Lots of people use screen readers, including:  – Blind people – Dyslexic people – People who are partially sighted – People who wish to lighten their reading load – People who like the experience of using a screen reader.  Camel case will make your hashtags accessible to all of these people.  And more, because…Camel case improves readability.

AVOID THESE HASHTAGS currently shadow banned :
