How do you maintain that positive attitude you had while making New Year resolutions throughout the entire year? I use a lot of different tools, apps, words, objects, meditation and affirmations.
Last year, my word of the year was ELEVATE. I painted it on a rock and put it in my bathroom so I would see it every morning before I started my day. It helped me with all of my goals throughout the year, and most importantly as a reminder with health and fitness.
- raise or lift (something) up to a higher position.“the exercise will naturally elevate your chest and head”Similar:raise, lift (up), raise up/aloft, buoy up, upraise, bear aloft, hoist, hike up, haul up, heft up, boostOpposite:lower
- raise to a more important or impressive level.“in the 1920s he was elevated to secretary of state”
This year my word, on a new painted rock, is RISK.
Typically the definition of “risk” doesn’t sound positive when you look it up in the dictionary, so I won’t give you that definition here. What I mean is positive risk:
Positive risk: any condition, event, occurrence or situation that provides a possible positive impact for a project or environment or person. Taking a risk to achieve your goal requires courage to face the fear of uncertainty. No matter the outcome, either way, we grow through the process and become more resilient and confident. Being willing to build those risk taking skills improves the chances of achieving future goals.
A positive attitude is the only way to maintaining a positive life and now add risk in the mix and trust that your outcome will also be positive. This is how I am taking on my fitness goals, this year. Easier said than done, but like with all exercise, it takes daily practice. As mentioned, I spent last year “elevating” and raising my vibration. That was one of way of getting healthy, mentally speaking. This is all about physical risk for me this year and pushing my body to get in the best shape possible. It’s easy to blow off the gym or a barre class if you are not accountable or if you simply don’t feel up to going because of anything else that is transpiring in your life. Thus why, a positive attitude, which you see maintained by most successful athletes and fitness influencers, is the way to go.
On an average day, we are all inundated with information and measuring up to others on social media. Instagram is a haven for seeing what others are doing in the business of fitness. The most successful ones lead with engaging and consistent positivity. Here’s what we can learn from leading social media fitness influencers in way of a positive attitude.
Positivity brings positive opportunities and income.
There is a likeability quotient that must be factored in when considering who is succeeding as a fitness influencer and who isn’t. There is no better place to network, than on social media. In terms of networking and business opportunities, fitness influencers are more likely to meet likeminded and beneficial individuals with their own winning attitude and positive presence. A positive person is not only open to expanding their social circle to have discussions with virtual strangers that would open new doors to great opportunities, they actually benefit by doing so. There is big business in being a fitness influencer and those who are consistent with positivity are attracting lucrative partnerships and ambassadorships. Brands are looking for influencers who will not only collaborate in a timely manner but also contribute a workflow that has uplifting and engaging energy for their followers.

Positivity can help you stay healthy and bounce back from a sickness.
When your mind is in a healthy place, pretty much everything else aligns. Your attitude really does affect your health. You will hear a lot of fitness influencers state that they rarely get ill or get a seasonal flu once every three years. When your attitude is healthy, your support system tends to be also making you consistently available to your following.

Positivity makes for others enjoyment and attractability.
Influence is all about consistency and relatability. Fitness enthusiasts learn from each other and enjoy collaborating with those who have the ability to inpsire, elevate and challenge them when the going gets tough – be that type of influencer!
Positivity will lead you to success.
As Johnny Mercer said “You’ve got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, and latch on to the affirmative. Don’t mess with Mister In-Between.”
All of us deal with problems and general setbacks in life at some point, but it’s a MUST to focus on your goals and keep forward positive momentum no matter how bleak things may look or no matter how hard you tried today and didn’t reach your goal. Positivity is hard work and requires daily maintenance; with elevated energy push that positive outlook. RISK that you will be great along the way, no matter what!
